PEER REVIEW
The International Conference on Technical and Physical Problems of Engineering (ICTPE) is committed to maintaining a fair, thorough, and timely peer review process to ensure the highest standards of academic publishing. The conference follows a double-blind peer review system, in which both the reviewers and the authors remain anonymous to each other throughout the review process.
1. Peer Review Process - Each submitted manuscript is initially assessed by the Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor to determine its suitability for the conference’s scope and adherence to submission guidelines. - Manuscripts passing the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers with expertise relevant to the topic. - Reviewers provide detailed, constructive feedback on the manuscript’s originality, methodology, technical quality, clarity, significance, and contribution to the field. - Based on the reviewers’ evaluations, the editor will make one of the following decisions: * Accept * Minor revisions required * Major revisions required * Reject
2. Reviewers’ Responsibilities - Evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and professionally. - Provide comments that are clear, specific, and helpful for authors to improve their work. - Maintain confidentiality of the manuscript content and not share, distribute, or use it for personal advantage. - Disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their impartial evaluation of the manuscript.
3. Authors’ Responsibilities During Review - Respond to reviewers’ comments point by point in a clear, respectful, and timely manner. - Revise the manuscript carefully to address all reviewer concerns. - Provide a detailed revision letter explaining changes made or justifying any points not addressed.
4. Editors’ Responsibilities - Ensure a fair and unbiased review process, selecting qualified reviewers free of conflicts of interest. - Maintain confidentiality of all manuscripts. - Make decisions based solely on the quality, originality, and relevance of the manuscript to the conference’s scope. - Communicate decisions clearly and promptly to authors.
5. Reviewer Selection and Conflicts of Interest - Reviewers are selected based on their expertise and previous publication record in relevant areas. - Editors will avoid inviting reviewers who have recent collaborations, shared affiliations, or personal relationships with the authors. - All reviewers must declare potential conflicts of interest before accepting an invitation to review.
6. Confidentiality - Manuscripts submitted to ICTPE are treated as confidential documents. - Information about manuscripts will not be shared with anyone outside the peer review process without authors’ written permission.
7. Timeframe of Review - ICTPE aims to complete the initial review process within 4-8 weeks from the date of submission. - Authors will be informed promptly in case of delays.
8. Appeals Process - Authors who disagree with editorial decisions may submit a written appeal to the Editor-in-Chief, including a detailed explanation supported by evidence or responses to reviewers’ critiques. - Appeals will be reviewed by the editorial board or an independent expert, and final decisions will be communicated to the authors.
9. Ethics in Peer Review - ICTPE follows the COPE Ethical Guidelines for Peer Reviewers. - Suspected misconduct discovered during peer review will be investigated, and appropriate actions will be taken following COPE recommendations. |
