PUBLICATION ETHICS AND MALPRACTICE STATEMENT
The International Conference on Technical and Physical Problems of Engineering (ICTPE) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical conduct in scientific publishing. The Conference follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and expects all authors, editors, reviewers, and contributors to adhere to these principles.
1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors - Authors must ensure their submitted manuscripts are original works, free from plagiarism, and have not been published elsewhere or simultaneously submitted to other conferences. - Authors should accurately report their research methods, data, results, and provide sufficient detail to allow replication by others. - All sources and relevant prior work must be properly cited. - Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts of interest that could influence their work. - Authorship must be limited to individuals who have significantly contributed to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the research. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.
2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors - Editors will evaluate manuscripts based on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the conference’s scope, without discrimination based on authors’ race, gender, institutional affiliation, or personal characteristics. - Editors must maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and avoid disclosing any information to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and editorial board members. - Editors will actively investigate suspected misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, or unethical research practices, and will take appropriate corrective action, such as issuing corrections or retractions.
3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers - Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and in a timely manner. - Reviewers should identify potential ethical concerns such as plagiarism, duplicate publication, or data manipulation and report them to the editors. - Reviewers must maintain confidentiality and avoid sharing or using unpublished material for personal advantage. - Reviewers should disclose any conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality.
4. Research Involving Human Participants- Authors reporting research involving human participants must confirm that their studies were conducted in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and relevant national or institutional ethical standards. - Authors must include a statement affirming that informed consent was obtained from all participants or their legal guardians. - Manuscripts must clearly state any relevant ethical approval information, including the name of the ethics committee or institutional review board (IRB) and approval number if applicable. - Authors should ensure that personal data and privacy of participants are protected, and that confidentiality is maintained in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
5. Plagiarism and Misconduct - ICTPE strictly prohibits all forms of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and fabrication or falsification of data. - Submitted manuscripts are checked for similarity using reliable plagiarism detection software before acceptance. - Proven cases of misconduct may result in manuscript rejection, publication of corrections or retractions, and notification to the authors’ institutions.
6. Corrections and Retractions - The conference is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scientific record. - Errors discovered post-publication that affect the interpretation or reliability of the research will be corrected through an erratum or corrigendum. - Articles may be retracted in cases of research misconduct, ethical violations, or major errors.
7. Conflict of Interest - Authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived as influencing the research or its evaluation. - Conflicts of interest will be considered during the peer review process and managed to maintain transparency and objectivity.
8. Handling Allegations of Misconduct - ICTPE will investigate all allegations of misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines. - Investigations will be fair, unbiased, and confidential, involving consultation with relevant parties. - If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions, such as rejection, retraction, or notification of institutions, will be taken. |
